For those of you who follow my blog, you know I am email-free on vacation. It’s been a change for me from how I used to operate, and a very welcome one.
Change is never easy
Like any change, it was difficult at first. The first time I tried it, I came close to totally unplugging. A client issue came up where I needed to check email and I almost got lost in the email black hole. While I wasn’t perfect my first time out, I made progress and considered my first try a huge step forward.
After that, not checking email on vacation became much easier, and now it’s a habit. I know I can do it, and have a process in place to help me unplug.
